The Irises Cotton Scarf - Van Gogh

The Irises painted in 1882 during Van Gogh isolation in St Remy, was the first painting Van Gogh started after arriving at the asylum. The flowers were growing in a garden in the small outdoor area where the artist was allowed to stroll and sit.  They were the most expensive painting sold in 1987 for $53.9million
