"Fire and Ice" by Erthe & Co is hand finished with texture, depth and gilded with 24k gold leaf. While it may look like a painting, it is photograph in it's purest form with no digital enhancement. The effect is achieved by preserving poppy blossoms and freezing them, with ice manipulated by water temperature to achieve the different opacity levels. This process takes 4-10 days to complete as some blooms are preserved until their drying is complete.
"Fire and Ice" is part of the Anima Mea series, awarded honourable mention in the International Photography Awards (2014) under the category of Fine art photography, featured in British Vogue and on the cover of the Niko Pro Magazine, UK.
“Fire and Ice” is a highly sought-after photography artwork which adorns the walls of private art collectors and commercial spaces in Sydney, Australia.
