19th Century French Antique Books - Oeuvres Completes de Lamartine - Complete works of De Lamartine

There is something special about owning a French Antique book.  To know that someone wrote something 200 years ago or more and you are holding it in your hands today, is very special.  These 19th Century French books are leather-bound in great condition, with beautiful marbled front and back covers, as well as beautiful marbling on the ed of the pages. These 19th Century French books are French Poetry written by De Lamartine.  There are 4 volumes - numbered 1-4 , each containing different poetry works by the Author.

There were published in 1834 in Paris, France. Some of the Volumes contain photos.

A beautiful collection to have in your home. Whether you read French or not, they make a wonderful decor item in your home, bringing history and culture.  They look great displayed in a bookcase, or stacked on a console or coffee table.

The books are sold as a set of 4.  They cannot be split up.  There is only one set available.

About the Author

Alphonse de Lamartine, (born October 21, 1790, Mâcon, France—died February 28, 1869, Paris), French poet, historian, and statesman who achieved renown for his lyrics in Méditations poétiques (1820), which established him as one of the key figures in the Romantic movement in French literature. He was also instrumental in the foundation of the Second Republic and the continuation of the Tricolore as the flag of France.
